OpenFinGym: A Verifiable Multi-Task Gym Environment for Evaluating Quant Agents

arXiv:2606.26350v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Although large language model agents are increasingly applied to quantitative-finance workflows, their evaluation remains fragmented across isolated tasks, while the financial relevance of benchmark tasks is often overlooked. Yet financial workflows are inherently multi-stage, spanning interdependent tasks such as forecasting, strategy construction, risk management, and trading. Existing platforms typically focus on a single task, and can therefore overstate agent competence and fail to reveal weaknesses in generalization, real-market interaction, and financially meaningful decision-making. We introduce OpenFinGym, a unified gym environment for quantitative-finance agent development that covers forecasting, market generation, real-time trading, and fraud detection under a single execution and verification interface. OpenFinGym additionally provides an automated task-construction pipeline that turns quantitative finance publications into executable task packages; a containerised runtime with a host-side verifier service that supports scalable agent rollouts and prevents runtime train-test leakage; a paper trading engine with a low-latency data-stream design; deferred-resolution support for long-horizon and event-market forecasts; and integration for SFT and RL post-training

Hierarchical Semantic Correlation-Aware Masked Autoencoder for Unsupervised Audio-Visual Representation Learning

arXiv:2604.04229v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Learning aligned multimodal embeddings from weakly paired, label-free corpora is challenging: pipelines often provide only pre-extracted features, clips contain multiple events, and spurious co-occurrences. We propose HSC-MAE (Hierarchical Semantic Correlation-Aware Masked Autoencoder), a dual-path teacher-student framework that enforces semantic consistency across three complementary levels of representation - from coarse to fine: (i) global-level canonical-geometry correlation via DCCA, which aligns audio and visual embeddings within a shared modality-invariant subspace; (ii) local-level neighborhood-semantics correlation via teacher-mined soft top-k affinities, which preserves multi-positive relational structure among semantically similar instances; and (iii) sample-level conditional-sufficiency correlation via masked autoencoding, which ensures individual embeddings retain discriminative semantic content under partial observation. Concretely, a student MAE path is trained with masked feature reconstruction and affinity-weighted soft top-k InfoNCE; an EMA teacher operating on unmasked inputs via the CCA path supplies stable canonical geometry and soft positives. Learnable multi-task weights reconcile competing objectives, and an optional distillation loss transfers teacher geometry into the student. Experiments on AVE and VEGAS demonstrate substantial mAP improvements over strong unsupervised baselines, validating that HSC-MAE yields robust and well-structured audio-visual representations.

Robust Embodied Perception in Dynamic Environments via Disentangled Weight Fusion

arXiv:2604.01669v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Embodied perception systems face severe challenges of dynamic environment distribution drift when they continuously interact in open physical spaces. However, the existing domain incremental awareness methods often rely on the domain id obtained in advance during the testing phase, which limits their practicability in unknown interaction scenarios. At the same time, the model often overfits to the context-specific perceptual noise, which leads to insufficient generalization ability and catastrophic forgetting. To address these limitations, we propose a domain-id and exemplar-free incremental learning framework for embodied multimedia systems, which aims to achieve robust continuous environment adaptation. This method designs a disentangled representation mechanism to remove non-essential environmental style interference, and guide the model to focus on extracting semantic intrinsic features shared across scenes, thereby eliminating perceptual uncertainty and improving generalization. We further use the weight fusion strategy to dynamically integrate the old and new environment knowledge in the parameter space, so as to ensure that the model adapts to the new distribution without storing historical data and maximally retains the discrimination ability of the old environment. Extensive experiments on multiple standard benchmark datasets show that the proposed method significantly reduces catastrophic forgetting in a completely exemplar-free and domain-id free setting, and its accuracy is better than the existing state-of-the-art methods.

A Multi-Task Targeted Learning Framework for Lithium-Ion Battery State-of-Health and Remaining Useful Life

arXiv:2603.22323v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Accurately predicting the state-of-health (SOH) and remaining useful life (RUL) of lithium-ion batteries is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electric vehicles while minimizing associated risks. However, current deep learning methods are limited in their ability to selectively extract features and model time dependencies for these two parameters. Moreover, most existing methods rely on traditional recurrent neural networks, which have inherent shortcomings in long-term time-series modeling. To address these issues, this paper proposes a multi-task targeted learning framework for SOH and RUL prediction, which integrates multiple neural networks, including a multi-scale feature extraction module, an improved extended LSTM, and a dual-stream attention module. First, a feature extraction module with multi-scale CNNs is designed to capture detailed local battery decline patterns. Secondly, an improved extended LSTM network is employed to enhance the model's ability to retain long-term temporal information, thus improving temporal relationship modeling. Building on this, the dual-stream attention module-comprising polarized attention and sparse attention to selectively focus on key information relevant to SOH and RUL, respectively, by assigning higher weights to important features. Finally, a many-to-two mapping is achieved through the dual-task layer. To optimize the model's performance and reduce the need for manual hyperparameter tuning, the Hyperopt optimization algorithm is used. Extensive comparative experiments on battery aging datasets demonstrate that the proposed method reduces the average RMSE for SOH and RUL predictions by 111.3\% and 33.0\%, respectively, compared to traditional and state-of-the-art methods.

Step 3.5 Flash: Open Frontier-Level Intelligence with 11B Active Parameters

arXiv:2602.10604v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: We introduce Step 3.5 Flash, a sparse Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) model that bridges frontier-level agentic intelligence and computational efficiency. We focus on what matters most when building agents: sharp reasoning and fast, reliable execution. Step 3.5 Flash pairs a 196B-parameter foundation with 11B active parameters for efficient inference. It is optimized with interleaved 3:1 sliding-window/full attention and Multi-Token Prediction (MTP-3) to reduce the latency and cost of multi-round agentic interactions. To reach frontier-level intelligence, we design a scalable reinforcement learning framework that combines verifiable signals with preference feedback, while remaining stable under large-scale off-policy training, enabling consistent self-improvement across mathematics, code, and tool use. Step 3.5 Flash demonstrates strong performance across agent, coding, and math tasks, achieving 85.4% on IMO-AnswerBench, 86.4% on LiveCodeBench-v6 (2024.08-2025.05), 88.2% on tau2-Bench, 69.0% on BrowseComp (with context management), and 51.0% on Terminal-Bench 2.0, comparable to frontier models such as GPT-5.2 xHigh and Gemini 3.0 Pro. By redefining the efficiency frontier, Step 3.5 Flash provides a high-density foundation for deploying sophisticated agents in real-world industrial environments.
