Scaling Attention via Feature Sparsity

arXiv:2603.22300v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Scaling Transformers to ultra-long contexts is bottlenecked by the $O(n^2 d)$ cost of self-attention. Existing methods reduce this cost along the sequence axis through local windows, kernel approximations, or token-level sparsity, but these approaches consistently degrade accuracy. In this paper, we instead explore an orthogonal axis: feature sparsity. We propose Sparse Feature Attention (SFA), where queries and keys are represented as $k$-sparse codes that preserve high-dimensional expressivity while reducing the cost of attention from $\Theta(n^2 d)$ to $\Theta(n^2 k^2/d)$. To make this efficient at scale, we introduce FlashSFA, an IO-aware kernel that extends FlashAttention to operate directly on sparse overlaps without materializing dense score matrices. Across GPT-2 and Qwen3 pretraining, SFA matches dense baselines while improving speed by up to $2.5\times$ and reducing FLOPs and KV-cache by nearly 50\%. On synthetic and downstream benchmarks, SFA preserves retrieval accuracy and robustness at long contexts, outperforming short-embedding baselines that collapse feature diversity. These results establish feature-level sparsity as a complementary and underexplored axis for efficient attention, enabling Transformers to scale to orders-of-magnitude longer contexts with minimal quality loss. Schr\"odinger's Navigator: Imagining an Ensemble of Futures for Zero-Shot Object Navigation

arXiv:2512.21201v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Zero-shot object navigation (ZSON) requires robots to locate target objects in unseen environments without task-specific fine-tuning or pre-built maps, a capability crucial for service and household robotics. Existing methods perform well in simulation but struggle in realistic, cluttered environments where heavy occlusions and latent hazards make large portions of the scene unobserved. These approaches typically act on a single inferred scene, making them prone to overcommitment and unsafe behavior under uncertainty. To address these challenges, we propose Schr\"odinger's Navigator, a belief-aware framework that explicitly reasons over multiple trajectory-conditioned imagined 3D futures at inference time. A trajectory-conditioned 3D world model generates hypothetical observations along candidate paths, maintaining a superposition of plausible scene realizations. An adaptive, occluder-aware trajectory sampling strategy focuses imagination on uncertain regions, while a Future-Aware Value Map (FAVM) aggregates imagined futures to guide robust, proactive action selection. Evaluations in simulation and on a physical Go2 quadruped robot demonstrate that Schr\"odinger's Navigator outperforms strong ZSON baselines, achieving more robust self-localization, object localization, and safe navigation under severe occlusions and latent hazards. These results highlight the effectiveness of reasoning over imagined 3D futures as a scalable and generalizable strategy for zero-shot navigation in uncertain real-world environments.

A prior information informed learning architecture for flying trajectory prediction

arXiv:2603.06863v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Trajectory prediction for flying objects is critical in domains ranging from sports analytics to aerospace. However, traditional methods struggle with complex physical modeling, computational inefficiencies, and high hardware demands, often neglecting critical trajectory events like landing points. This paper introduces a novel, hardware-efficient trajectory prediction framework that integrates environmental priors with a Dual-Transformer-Cascaded (DTC) architecture. We demonstrate this approach by predicting the landing points of tennis balls in real-world outdoor courts. Using a single industrial camera and YOLO-based detection, we extract high-speed flight coordinates. These coordinates, fused with structural environmental priors (e.g., court boundaries), form a comprehensive dataset fed into our proposed DTC model. A first-level Transformer classifies the trajectory, while a second-level Transformer synthesizes these features to precisely predict the landing point. Extensive ablation and comparative experiments demonstrate that integrating environmental priors within the DTC architecture significantly outperforms existing trajectory prediction frameworks

PROSPECT: Unified Streaming Vision-Language Navigation via Semantic--Spatial Fusion and Latent Predictive Representation

arXiv:2603.03739v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) have advanced zero-shot end-to-end Vision-Language Navigation (VLN), yet robust navigation requires not only semantic understanding but also predictive modeling of environment dynamics and spatial structure. We propose PROSPECT, a unified streaming navigation agent that couples a streaming Vision-Language-Action (VLA) policy with latent predictive representation learning. PROSPECT uses CUT3R as a streaming 3D foundation spatial encoder to produce long-context, absolute-scale spatial features, and fuses them with SigLIP semantic features via cross-attention. During training, we introduce learnable stream query tokens that query the streaming context and predict next-step 2D and 3D latent features (rather than pixels or explicit modalities), supervised in the latent spaces of frozen SigLIP and CUT3R teachers. The predictive branch shapes internal representations without inference overhead. Experiments on VLN-CE benchmarks and real-robot deployment demonstrate state-of-the-art performance and improved long-horizon robustness under diverse lighting. We will release code for the community soon.
