Looking Back and Forth: Cross-Image Attention Calibration and Attentive Preference Learning for Multi-Image Hallucination Mitigation

arXiv:2603.07048v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Although large vision-language models (LVLMs) have demonstrated remarkable capabilities, they are prone to hallucinations in multi-image tasks. We attribute this issue to limitations in existing attention mechanisms and insufficient cross-image modeling. Inspired by this, we propose a structured hallucination mitigation framework involving Cross-Image Attention calibration and Preference Learning (CAPL). CAPL explicitly enhances inter-image interactions at the architectural level while reinforcing reliance on genuine cross-image evidence during training, thereby improving the model's perception and modeling of cross-image associations. Specifically, we (i) introduce a selectable image token interaction attention mechanism to establish fine-grained cross-image entity alignment and information flow; (ii) design a cross-image modeling-based preference optimization strategy that contrasts reasoning outcomes under full inter-image interaction and those obtained when images are mutually invisible, encouraging the model to ground its predictions in authentic visual evidence and mitigating erroneous inferences driven by textual priors. Experimental results demonstrate that CAPL consistently improves performance across multiple model architectures, achieving stable gains on both multi-image hallucination and general benchmarks. Notably, performance on single-image visual tasks remains stable or slightly improves, indicating strong generalization capability.

Flow Matching Meets Biology and Life Science: A Survey

arXiv:2507.17731v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Over the past decade, advances in generative modeling, such as generative adversarial networks, masked autoencoders, and diffusion models, have significantly transformed biological research and discovery, enabling breakthroughs in molecule design, protein generation, catalysis discovery, drug discovery, and beyond. At the same time, biological applications have served as valuable testbeds for evaluating the capabilities of generative models. Recently, flow matching has emerged as a powerful and efficient alternative to diffusion-based generative modeling, with growing interest in its application to problems in biology and life sciences. This paper presents the first comprehensive survey of recent developments in flow matching and its applications in biological domains. We begin by systematically reviewing the foundations and variants of flow matching, and then categorize its applications into three major areas: biological sequence modeling, molecule generation and design, and peptide and protein generation. For each, we provide an in-depth review of recent progress. We also summarize commonly used datasets and software tools, and conclude with a discussion of potential future directions. Single Image Reflection Separation via Dual Prior Interaction Transformer

arXiv:2505.12641v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Single image reflection separation aims to separate the transmission and reflection layers from a mixed image. Existing methods typically combine general priors from pre-trained models with task-specific priors such as text prompts and reflection detection. However, the transmission prior, as the most direct task-specific prior for the target transmission layer, has not been effectively modeled or fully utilized, limiting performance in complex scenarios. To address this issue, we propose a dual-prior interaction framework based on lightweight transmission prior generation and effective prior fusion. First, we design a Local Linear Correction Network (LLCN) that finetunes pre-trained models based on the physical constraint T=SI+B, where S and B represent pixel-wise and channel-wise scaling and bias transformations. LLCN efficiently generates high-quality transmission priors with minimal parameters. Second, we construct a Dual-Prior Interaction Transformer (DPIT) that employs a dual-stream channel reorganization attention mechanism. By reorganizing features from general and transmission priors for attention computation, DPIT achieves deep fusion of both priors, fully exploiting their complementary information. Experimental results on multiple benchmark datasets demonstrate that the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance.
