Lineage-specific pulmonary transcriptome landscape of coronavirus infection unveils universal immunotherapy for viral pneumonia

In the infection courses of different SARS-CoV-2 variants, disease outcomes and signatures were delineated by physiological changes, viral load, pathology, and pulmonary transcriptome analysis. This multi-dimensional landscape of disease outcomes and underlying mechanisms might provide important clues for immunotherapy of SARS-CoV-2 infection and pneumonia caused by other respiratory viruses.

Rethinking SNN Online Training and Deployment: Gradient-Coherent Learning via Hybrid-Driven LIF Model

arXiv:2410.07547v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) are considered to have enormous potential in the future development of Artificial Intelligence due to their brain-inspired and energy-efficient properties. Compared to vanilla Spatial-Temporal Back-propagation (STBP) training methods, online training can effectively avoid the risk of GPU memory explosion. However, current online learning frameworks cannot tackle the gradient discrepancy problem between the forward and backward process, merely aiming to optimize the GPU memory, resulting in no performance advantages compared to the STBP-based models in the inference stage. To address the aforementioned challenges, we propose Hybrid-Driven Leaky Integrate-and-Fire (HD-LIF) model family for efficient online learning, which respectively adopt different spiking calculation mechanism in the upper-region and lower-region of the firing threshold. We theoretically point out that our learning framework can effectively separate temporal gradients and address the misalignment problem of surrogate gradients, as well as achieving full-stage optimization towards learning precision, memory complexity and power consumption. Experimental results have demonstrated that our scheme is enable to achieve state-of-the-art performance for multiple evaluation metrics, breaking through the traditional paradigm of SNN online training and deployment. Forecasting as Rendering: A 2D Gaussian Splatting Framework for Time Series Forecasting

arXiv:2603.02220v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Time series forecasting (TSF) remains a challenging problem due to the intricate entanglement of intraperiod-fluctuations and interperiod-trends. While recent advances have attempted to reshape 1D sequences into 2D period-phase representations, they suffer from two principal limitations.Firstly, treating reshaped tensors as static images results in a topological mismatch, as standard spatial operators sever chronological continuity at grid boundaries. Secondly, relying on uniform fixed-size representations allocates modeling capacity inefficiently and fails to provide the adaptive resolution required for compressible, non-stationary temporal patterns. To address these limitations, we introduce TimeGS, a novel framework that fundamentally shifts the forecasting paradigm from regression to 2D generative rendering. By reconceptualizing the future sequence as a continuous latent surface, TimeGS utilizes the inherent anisotropy of Gaussian kernels to adaptively model complex variations with flexible geometric alignment. To realize this, we introduce a Multi-Basis Gaussian Kernel Generation (MB-GKG) block that synthesizes kernels from a fixed dictionary to stabilize optimization, and a Multi-Period Chronologically Continuous Rasterization (MP-CCR) block that enforces strict temporal continuity across periodic boundaries. Comprehensive experiments on standard benchmark datasets demonstrate that TimeGS attains state-of-the-art performance.
