Variation-aware Flexible 3D Gaussian Editing

arXiv:2602.11638v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Indirect editing methods for 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) have recently witnessed significant advancements. These approaches operate by first applying edits in the rendered 2D space and subsequently projecting the modifications back into 3D. However, this paradigm inevitably introduces cross-view inconsistencies and constrains both the flexibility and efficiency of the editing process. To address these challenges, we present VF-Editor, which enables native editing of Gaussian primitives by predicting attribute variations in a feedforward manner. To accurately and efficiently estimate these variations, we design a novel variation predictor distilled from 2D editing knowledge. The predictor encodes the input to generate a variation field and employs two learnable, parallel decoding functions to iteratively infer attribute changes for each 3D Gaussian. Thanks to its unified design, VF-Editor can seamlessly distill editing knowledge from diverse 2D editors and strategies into a single predictor, allowing for flexible and effective knowledge transfer into the 3D domain. Extensive experiments on both public and private datasets reveal the inherent limitations of indirect editing pipelines and validate the effectiveness and flexibility of our approach.

mlx-snn: Spiking Neural Networks on Apple Silicon via MLX

arXiv:2603.03529v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: We introduce mlx-snn, the first spiking neural network (SNN) library built natively on Apple's MLX framework. As SNN research grows rapidly, all major libraries -- snnTorch, Norse, SpikingJelly, Lava -- target PyTorch or custom backends, leaving Apple Silicon users without a native option. mlx-snn provides six neuron models (LIF, IF, Izhikevich, Adaptive LIF, Synaptic, Alpha), four surrogate gradient functions, four spike encoding methods (including an EEG-specific encoder), and a complete backpropagation-through-time training pipeline. The library leverages MLX's unified memory architecture, lazy evaluation, and composable function transforms (mx.grad, mx.compile) to enable efficient SNN research on Apple Silicon hardware. We validate mlx-snn on MNIST digit classification across five hyperparameter configurations and three backends, achieving up to 97.28% accuracy with 2.0--2.5 times faster training and 3--10 times lower GPU memory than snnTorch on the same M3 Max hardware. mlx-snn is open-source under the MIT license and available on PyPI. https://github.com/D-ST-Sword/mlx-snn

IPD: Boosting Sequential Policy with Imaginary Planning Distillation in Offline Reinforcement Learning

arXiv:2603.04289v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Decision transformer based sequential policies have emerged as a powerful paradigm in offline reinforcement learning (RL), yet their efficacy remains constrained by the quality of static datasets and inherent architectural limitations. Specifically, these models often struggle to effectively integrate suboptimal experiences and fail to explicitly plan for an optimal policy. To bridge this gap, we propose \textbf{Imaginary Planning Distillation (IPD)}, a novel framework that seamlessly incorporates offline planning into data generation, supervised training, and online inference. Our framework first learns a world model equipped with uncertainty measures and a quasi-optimal value function from the offline data. These components are utilized to identify suboptimal trajectories and augment them with reliable, imagined optimal rollouts generated via Model Predictive Control (MPC). A Transformer-based sequential policy is then trained on this enriched dataset, complemented by a value-guided objective that promotes the distillation of the optimal policy. By replacing the conventional, manually-tuned return-to-go with the learned quasi-optimal value function, IPD improves both decision-making stability and performance during inference. Empirical evaluations on the D4RL benchmark demonstrate that IPD significantly outperforms several state-of-the-art value-based and transformer-based offline RL methods across diverse tasks.

DeepXiv-SDK: An Agentic Data Interface for Scientific Literature

arXiv:2603.00084v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: LLM-agents are increasingly used to accelerate the progress of scientific research. Yet a persistent bottleneck is data access: agents not only lack readily available tools for retrieval, but also have to work with unstrcutured, human-centric data on the Internet, such as HTML web-pages and PDF files, leading to excessive token consumption, limit working efficiency, and brittle evidence look-up. This gap motivates the development of \textit{an agentic data interface}, which is designed to enable agents to access and utilize scientific literature in a more effective, efficient, and cost-aware manner. In this paper, we introduce DeepXiv-SDK, which offers a three-layer agentic data interface for scientific literature. 1) Data Layer, which transforms unstructured, human-centric data into normalized and structured representations in JSON format, improving data usability and enabling progressive accessibility of the data. 2) Service Layer, which presents readily available tools for data access and ad-hoc retrieval. It also enables a rich form of agent usage, including CLI, MCP, and Python SDK. 3) Application Layer, which creates a built-in agent, packaging basic tools from the service layer to support complex data access demands. DeepXiv-SDK currently supports the complete ArXiv corpus, and is synchronized daily to incorporate new releases. It is designed to extend to all common open-access corpora, such as PubMed Central, bioRxiv, medRxiv, and chemRxiv. We release RESTful APIs, an open-source Python SDK, and a web demo showcasing deep search and deep research workflows. DeepXiv-SDK is free to use with registration.
