CITYREP: A Unified Benchmark for Urban Representations Across Cities, Tasks, and Modalities

arXiv:2605.26036v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Urban representation learning encodes complex urban environments into general-purpose embeddings for diverse downstream tasks and emerging urban foundation models. However, current evaluations are limited, typically focusing on one or two cities and tasks and relying on random splits that introduce spatial leakage, leading to inflated performance and weak support for cross-location generalization and fair comparison. To address this, we propose CityRep, a unified benchmark that evaluates urban representations across data modalities, cities, and tasks using spatially structured splits. CityRep consists of three key components: (1) a spatial unit-agnostic evaluation framework that supports heterogeneous urban representations through a standardized alignment module; (2) a unified evaluation protocol using block-based spatial splits to mitigate spatial leakage and enable rigorous model comparison; and (3) an extensible multi-city, multi-task benchmark suite spanning 8 cities and 8 tasks across regression, classification, and distribution prediction. We evaluate 11 representative urban representation models. Results show that performance is highly sensitive to the split protocol, with random splits inflating scores and altering model rankings. We also observe substantial variability across cities and tasks, underscoring the need for generalization-aware evaluation. CityRep is released as a reproducible benchmark with datasets, evaluation pipelines, and diagnostic tools to facilitate fair comparison and support future research in urban representation learning towards urban foundation models.

Scaling the Long Video Understanding of Multimodal Large Language Models via Visual Memory Mechanism

arXiv:2603.29252v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Long video understanding is a key challenge that plagues the advancement of \emph{Multimodal Large language Models} (MLLMs). In this paper, we study this problem from the perspective of visual memory mechanism, and proposed a novel and training-free approach, termed \emph{Flexible Memory} (\textbf{FlexMem}). In principle, FlexMem aims to mimic human behavior of video watching, \emph{i.e.}, continually watching video content and recalling the most relevant memory fragments to answer the question. In this way, FlexMem can help MLLMs achieve video understanding of infinite lengths, unlike previous methods that process all video information at once and have input upper-limit. Concretely, FlexMem first consider the visual KV caches as the memory sources, and realize the effective memory transfer and writing via a dual-pathway compression design. Afterwards, FlexMem also explores different memory reading strategies for the diverse video understanding tasks, including the popular streaming one. To validate FlexMem, we apply it to two popular video-MLLMs, and conduct extensive experiments on five long video and one streaming video task. The experimental results show that on \textbf{a single 3090 GPU}, our FlexMem can achieve obvious improvements than existing efficient video understanding methods and process more than \textbf{1k frames}, which also helps the base MLLMs achieve comparable or even better performance than SOTA MLLMs on some benchmarks, \emph{e.g.} , GPT-4o and Gemini-1.5 Pro.

ForestPrune: High-ratio Visual Token Compression for Video Multimodal Large Language Models via Spatial-Temporal Forest Modeling

arXiv:2603.22911v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Due to the great saving of computation and memory overhead, token compression has become a research hot-spot for MLLMs and achieved remarkable progress in image-language tasks. However, for the video, existing methods still fall short of high-ratio token compression. We attribute this shortcoming to the insufficient modeling of temporal and continual video content, and propose a novel and training-free token pruning method for video MLLMs, termed ForestPrune, which achieves effective and high-ratio pruning via Spatial-temporal Forest Modeling. In practice, ForestPrune construct token forests across video frames based on the semantic, spatial and temporal constraints, making an overall comprehension of videos. Afterwards, ForestPrune evaluates the importance of token trees and nodes based on tree depth and node roles, thereby obtaining a globally optimal pruning decision. To validate ForestPrune, we apply it to two representative video MLLMs, namely LLaVA-Video and LLaVA-OneVision, and conduct extensive experiments on a bunch of video benchmarks. The experimental results not only show the great effectiveness for video MLLMs, e.g., retaining 95.8% average accuracy while reducing 90% tokens for LLaVA-OneVision, but also show its superior performance and efficiency than the compared token compression methods, e.g., +10.1% accuracy on MLVU and -81.4% pruning time than FrameFusion on LLaVA-Video.

FCMBench: The First Large-scale Financial Credit Multimodal Benchmark for Real-world Applications

arXiv:2601.00150v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: FCMBench is the first large-scale and privacy-compliant multimodal benchmark for real-world financial credit applications, covering tasks and robustness challenges from domain specific workflows and constraints. The current version of FCMBench covers 26 certificate types, with 5198 privacy-compliant images and 13806 paired VQA samples. It evaluates models on Perception and Reasoning tasks under real-world Robustness interferences, including 3 foundational perception tasks, 4 credit-specific reasoning tasks demanding decision-oriented visual evidence interpretation, and 10 real-world challenges for rigorous robustness stress testing. Moreover, FCMBench offers privacy-compliant realism with minimal leakage risk through in-house scenario-aware captures of manually synthesized templates, without any publicly released images. We conduct extensive evaluations of 28 state-of-the-art vision-language models spanning 14 AI companies and research institutes. Among them, Gemini 3 Pro achieves the best F1 score as a commercial model (65.16), Kimi-K2.5 achieves the best score as an open-source baseline (60.58). The mean and the std. of all tested models is 44.8 and 10.3 respectively, indicating that FCMBench is non-trivial and provides strong resolution for separating modern vision-language model capabilities. Robustness evaluations reveal that even top-performing models experience notable performance degradation under the designed challenges. We have open-sourced this benchmark to advance AI research in the credit domain and provide a domain-specific task for real-world AI applications.

Learning-guided Kansa collocation for forward and inverse PDEs beyond linearity

arXiv:2602.07970v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Partial Differential Equations are precise in modelling the physical, biological and graphical phenomena. However, the numerical methods suffer from the curse of dimensionality, high computation costs and domain-specific discretization. We aim to explore pros and cons of different PDE solvers, and apply them to specific scientific simulation problems, including forwarding solution, inverse problems and equations discovery. In particular, we extend the recent CNF (NeurIPS 2023) framework solver to coupled and non-linear settings, together with down-stream applications. The outcomes include implementation of selected methods, self-tuning techniques, evaluation on benchmark problems and a comprehensive survey of neural PDE solvers and scientific simulation applications.

CUDABench: Benchmarking LLMs for Text-to-CUDA Generation

arXiv:2603.02236v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Recent studies have demonstrated the potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) in generating GPU Kernels. Current benchmarks focus on the translation of high-level languages into CUDA, overlooking the more general and challenging task of text-to-CUDA generation. Furthermore, given the hardware-specific and performance-critical features of GPU programming, accurately assessing the performance of LLM-generated GPU programs is nontrivial. In this work, we introduce CUDABench, a comprehensive benchmark designed to evaluate the text-to-CUDA capabilities of LLMs. First, we construct CUDABench-Set, which covers Breadth-Depth-Difficulty evaluation space in diverse application domains, including artificial intelligence, scientific computing, and data analytics, etc. Furthermore, we propose CUDABench-Score and Generative Verification Pipeline that assess (1) compilation correctness, (2) functional consistency through execution-based verification, and (3) a novel roofline-based metric, Performance-Score. Benchmarking state-of-the-art LLMs reveals insightful findings and challenges of text-to-CUDA, such as a notable mismatch between high compilation success rates and low functional correctness, a lack of domain-specific algorithmic knowledge, and suboptimal utilization of GPU hardware resources. Our benchmark is available at https://github.com/CUDA-Bench/CUDABench.

LEDOM: Reverse Language Model

arXiv:2507.01335v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Autoregressive language models are trained exclusively left-to-right. We explore the complementary factorization, training right-to-left at scale, and ask what reasoning patterns emerge when a model conditions on future context to predict the past. We train LEDOM, an open-source purely reverse autoregressive language model (2B/7B parameters, 435B tokens), and find it develops capabilities distinct from forward models, including abductive inference, question synthesis, and natural resolution of the reversal curse. We then explore one application of the reverse model: combining forward likelihood $P(y \mid x)$ with reverse posterior $P(x \mid y)$ through noisy channel duality. We propose Reverse Reward, which reranks forward outputs using reverse posterior estimates, and prove that bidirectional scoring penalizes hallucinated reasoning chains whose backward reconstruction degrades. Reverse Reward yields gains of up to 6.6\% on AIME 2024 and 15\% on AMC 2023 across multiple strong baselines. We release all models, code, and data here.

OmniVideo-R1: Reinforcing Audio-visual Reasoning with Query Intention and Modality Attention

arXiv:2602.05847v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: While humans perceive the world through diverse modalities that operate synergistically to support a holistic understanding of their surroundings, existing omnivideo models still face substantial challenges on audio-visual understanding tasks. In this paper, we propose OmniVideo-R1, a novel reinforced framework that improves mixed-modality reasoning. OmniVideo-R1 empowers models to "think with omnimodal cues" by two key strategies: (1) query-intensive grounding based on self-supervised learning paradigms; and (2) modality-attentive fusion built upon contrastive learning paradigms. Extensive experiments on multiple benchmarks demonstrate that OmniVideo-R1 consistently outperforms strong baselines, highlighting its effectiveness and robust generalization capabilities.
