Low-Cost Labels, Reliable Choices: Rollout-Calibrated Hyper-Heuristics for Job Shop Scheduling

arXiv:2605.23957v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Learning-assisted hyper-heuristics can select among dispatching rules while preserving the feasibility and interpretability of constructive Job Shop Scheduling Problem (JSSP) heuristics. Their main computational cost lies in label generation rather than model fitting, since each supervised label usually requires rolling out candidate rules from a partial schedule. We study this label-cost problem together with a reliability problem: a learned selector should not switch away from a strong default rule unless the predicted gain is credible. The proposed selector uses regret-normalized rollout labels, a contextual KNN uncertainty estimate, and a gate that acts only when the predicted improvement exceeds an uncertainty-adjusted margin. We also vary rollout depth and breadth to measure the cost-quality trade-off. On synthetic JSSP instances, the gated selector achieves the lowest mean RPD among learned selectors, remains close to the best fixed dispatching rule, and reduces Random-HH mean RPD by more than an order of magnitude.

Adversarial Orthogonal Disentanglement for LVLM Hallucination Mitigation

arXiv:2605.25377v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs) have advanced multimodal understanding, yet their reliability is limited by hallucination, where generated content conflicts with visual facts. Existing mitigation methods either rely on costly external interventions, such as instruction tuning and retrieval, or use internal mechanisms that remain limited by flawed attention weights and entangled hidden representations. We propose Adversarial Orthogonal Disentanglement (AOD), a latent geometric framework for mitigating LVLM hallucinations. AOD learns a hallucination-related direction through a minimax objective: a classifier concentrates hallucination signals into the projected component, while an adversary removes them from the orthogonal residual space via a Gradient Reversal Layer. The learned direction enables a training-free dual-forward-pass contrastive decoding strategy that suppresses hallucinations while preserving general capabilities. Experiments on three LVLMs across four hallucination and four utility benchmarks show that AOD consistently outperforms strong baselines. It improves POPE accuracy by over 6\% on average, boosts AMBER by 6\%, and maintains strong performance on utility tasks such as MMMU. Further analysis shows robust transfer across datasets, suggesting that AOD captures general hallucination-related biases rather than dataset-specific artifacts. Our source code and datasets are available at https://github.com/Hunter-Wrynn/AOD.

Strat-Reasoner: Reinforcing Strategic Reasoning of LLMs in Multi-Agent Games

arXiv:2605.04906v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: While Large Language Models (LLMs) excel in certain reasoning tasks, they struggle in multi-agent games where the final outcome depends on the joint strategies of all agents. In multi-agent games, the non-stationarity of other agents brings significant challenges on the evaluation of the reasoning process and the credit assignment over multiple reasoning steps. Existing single-agent reinforcement learning (RL) approaches and their multi-agent extensions fail to address these challenges as they do not incorporate other agents in the reasoning process. In this work, we propose Strat-Reasoner, a novel RL-based framework that improves LLMs' strategic reasoning ability in multi-agent games. We introduce a novel recursive reasoning paradigm where an agent's reasoning also integrates other agents' reasoning processes. To provide effective reward signals for the intermediate reasoning sequences, we employ a centralized Chain-of-Thought (CoT) comparison module to evaluate the reasoning quality. Finally, we compute an accurate hybrid advantage and develop a group-relative RL approach to optimize the LLM policy. Experimental results show that Strat-Reasoner substantially improves strategic abilities of underlying LLMs, achieving 22.1\% average performance improvements across various multi-agent games. Code is publicly available at https://github.com/ydhe1012/Strat-Reasoner.

DWDP: Distributed Weight Data Parallelism for High-Performance LLM Inference on NVL72

arXiv:2604.01621v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Large language model (LLM) inference increasingly depends on multi-GPU execution, yet existing inference parallelization strategies require layer-wise inter-rank synchronization, making end-to-end performance sensitive to workload imbalance. We present DWDP (Distributed Weight Data Parallelism), an inference parallelization strategy that preserves data-parallel execution while offloading MoE weights across peer GPUs and fetching missing experts on demand. By removing collective inter-rank synchronization, DWDP allows each GPU to progress independently. We further address the practical overheads of this design with two optimizations for split-weight management and asynchronous remote-weight prefetch. Implemented in TensorRT-LLM and evaluated with DeepSeek-R1 on GB200 NVL72, DWDP improves end-to-end output TPS/GPU by 8.8% at comparable TPS/user in the 20-100 TPS/user serving range under 8K input sequence length and 1K output sequence length.

Developmental organization of sensory and sympathetic ganglia

Nature, Published online: 01 April 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-10313-0

Findings suggest that neural crest fate bias predominantly emerges within the neural tube, and that only a minor subset of delaminated progenitors retain multipotency to generate both sensory and sympathetic derivatives.

Nano-EmoX: Unifying Multimodal Emotional Intelligence from Perception to Empathy

arXiv:2603.02123v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: The development of affective multimodal language models (MLMs) has long been constrained by a gap between low-level perception and high-level interaction, leading to fragmented affective capabilities and limited generalization. To bridge this gap, we propose a cognitively inspired three-level hierarchy that organizes affective tasks according to their cognitive depth-perception, understanding, and interaction-and provides a unified conceptual foundation for advancing affective modeling. Guided by this hierarchy, we introduce Nano-EmoX, a small-scale multitask MLM, and P2E (Perception-to-Empathy), a curriculum-based training framework. Nano-EmoX integrates a suite of omni-modal encoders, including an enhanced facial encoder and a fusion encoder, to capture key multimodal affective cues and improve cross-task transferability. The outputs are projected into a unified language space via heterogeneous adapters, empowering a lightweight language model to tackle diverse affective tasks. Concurrently, P2E progressively cultivates emotional intelligence by aligning rapid perception with chain-of-thought-driven empathy. To the best of our knowledge, Nano-EmoX is the first compact MLM (2.2B) to unify six core affective tasks across all three hierarchy levels, achieving state-of-the-art or highly competitive performance across multiple benchmarks, demonstrating excellent efficiency and generalization.
