HybridStitch: Pixel and Timestep Level Model Stitching for Diffusion Acceleration

arXiv:2603.07815v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Diffusion models have demonstrated a remarkable ability in Text-to-Image (T2I) generation applications. Despite the advanced generation output, they suffer from heavy computation overhead, especially for large models that contain tens of billions of parameters. Prior work has illustrated that replacing part of the denoising steps with a smaller model still maintains the generation quality. However, these methods only focus on saving computation for some timesteps, ignoring the difference in compute demand within one timestep. In this work, we propose HybridStitch, a new T2I generation paradigm that treats generation like editing. Specifically, we introduce a hybrid stage that jointly incorporates both the large model and the small model. HybridStitch separates the entire image into two regions: one that is relatively easy to render, enabling an early transition to the smaller model, and another that is more complex and therefore requires refinement by the large model. HybridStitch employs the small model to construct a coarse sketch while exploiting the large model to edit and refine the complex regions. According to our evaluation, HybridStitch achieves 1.83$\times$ speedup on Stable Diffusion 3, which is faster than all existing mixture of model methods.

Gradually Excavating External Knowledge for Implicit Complex Question Answering

arXiv:2603.08148v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Recently, large language models (LLMs) have gained much attention for the emergence of human-comparable capabilities and huge potential. However, for open-domain implicit question-answering problems, LLMs may not be the ultimate solution due to the reasons of: 1) uncovered or out-of-date domain knowledge, 2) one-shot generation and hence restricted comprehensiveness. To this end, this work proposes a gradual knowledge excavation framework for open-domain complex question answering, where LLMs iteratively and actively acquire external information, and then reason based on acquired historical knowledge. Specifically, during each step of the solving process, the model selects an action to execute, such as querying external knowledge or performing a single logical reasoning step, to gradually progress toward a final answer. Our method can effectively leverage plug-and-play external knowledge and dynamically adjust the strategy for solving complex questions. Evaluated on the StrategyQA dataset, our method achieves 78.17% accuracy with less than 6% parameters of its competitors, setting new SOTA for ~10B-scale LLMs.

Ego-Vision World Model for Humanoid Contact Planning

arXiv:2510.11682v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Enabling humanoid robots to exploit physical contact, rather than simply avoid collisions, is crucial for autonomy in unstructured environments. Traditional optimization-based planners struggle with contact complexity, while on-policy reinforcement learning (RL) is sample-inefficient and has limited multi-task ability. We propose a framework combining a learned world model with sampling-based Model Predictive Control (MPC), trained on a demonstration-free offline dataset to predict future outcomes in a compressed latent space. To address sparse contact rewards and sensor noise, the MPC uses a learned surrogate value function for dense, robust planning. Our single, scalable model supports contact-aware tasks, including wall support after perturbation, blocking incoming objects, and traversing height-limited arches, with improved sample efficiency and multi-task capability over on-policy RL. Deployed on a physical humanoid, our system achieves robust, real-time contact planning from proprioception and ego-centric depth images. Intelligent Pathological Diagnosis of Gestational Trophoblastic Diseases via Visual-Language Deep Learning Model

arXiv:2603.02704v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: The pathological diagnosis of gestational trophoblastic disease(GTD) takes a long time, relies heavily on the experience of pathologists, and the consistency of initial diagnosis is low, which seriously threatens maternal health and reproductive outcomes. We developed an expert model for GTD pathological diagnosis, named GTDoctor. GTDoctor can perform pixel-based lesion segmentation on pathological slides, and output diagnostic conclusions and personalized pathological analysis results. We developed a software system, GTDiagnosis, based on this technology and conducted clinical trials. The retrospective results demonstrated that GTDiagnosis achieved a mean precision of over 0.91 for lesion detection in pathological slides (n=679 slides). In prospective studies, pathologists using GTDiagnosis attained a Positive Predictive Value of 95.59% (n=68 patients). The tool reduced average diagnostic time from 56 to 16 seconds per case (n=285 patients). GTDoctor and GTDiagnosis offer a novel solution for GTD pathological diagnosis, enhancing diagnostic performance and efficiency while maintaining clinical interpretability.

Proximity-Based Multi-Turn Optimization: Practical Credit Assignment for LLM Agent Training

arXiv:2602.19225v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Multi-turn LLM agents are becoming pivotal to production systems, spanning customer service automation, e-commerce assistance, and interactive task management, where accurately distinguishing high-value informative signals from stochastic noise is critical for sample-efficient training. In real-world scenarios, a failure in a trivial task may reflect random instability, whereas success in a high-difficulty task signifies a genuine capability breakthrough. Yet, existing group-based policy optimization methods rigidly rely on statistical deviation within discrete batches, frequently misallocating credit when task difficulty fluctuates. To address this issue, we propose Proximity-based Multi-turn Optimization (ProxMO), a practical and robust framework engineered specifically for the constraints of real-world deployment. ProxMO integrates global context via two lightweight mechanisms: success-rate-aware modulation dynamically adapts gradient intensity based on episode-level difficulty, while proximity-based soft aggregation derives baselines through continuous semantic weighting at the step level. Extensive evaluations on ALFWorld and WebShop benchmarks demonstrate that ProxMO yields substantial performance gains over existing baselines with negligible computational cost. Ablation studies further validate the independent and synergistic efficacy of both mechanisms. Crucially, ProxMO offers plug-and-play compatibility with standard GRPO frameworks, facilitating immediate, low-friction adoption in existing industrial training pipelines. Our implementation is available at: \href{https://anonymous.4open.science/r/proxmo-B7E7/README.md}{https://anonymous.4open.science/r/proxmo}.

ShallowJail: Steering Jailbreaks against Large Language Models

arXiv:2602.07107v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Large Language Models(LLMs) have been successful in numerous fields. Alignment has usually been applied to prevent them from harmful purposes. However, aligned LLMs remain vulnerable to jailbreak attacks that deliberately mislead them into producing harmful outputs. Existing jailbreaks are either black-box, using carefully crafted, unstealthy prompts, or white-box, requiring resource-intensive computation. In light of these challenges, we introduce ShallowJail, a novel attack that exploits shallow alignment in LLMs. ShallowJail can misguide LLMs' responses by manipulating the initial tokens during inference. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate the effectiveness of ShallowJail, which substantially degrades the safety of state-of-the-art LLM responses. Our code is available at https://github.com/liuup/ShallowJail.
