Rethinking SNN Online Training and Deployment: Gradient-Coherent Learning via Hybrid-Driven LIF Model

arXiv:2410.07547v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) are considered to have enormous potential in the future development of Artificial Intelligence due to their brain-inspired and energy-efficient properties. Compared to vanilla Spatial-Temporal Back-propagation (STBP) training methods, online training can effectively avoid the risk of GPU memory explosion. However, current online learning frameworks cannot tackle the gradient discrepancy problem between the forward and backward process, merely aiming to optimize the GPU memory, resulting in no performance advantages compared to the STBP-based models in the inference stage. To address the aforementioned challenges, we propose Hybrid-Driven Leaky Integrate-and-Fire (HD-LIF) model family for efficient online learning, which respectively adopt different spiking calculation mechanism in the upper-region and lower-region of the firing threshold. We theoretically point out that our learning framework can effectively separate temporal gradients and address the misalignment problem of surrogate gradients, as well as achieving full-stage optimization towards learning precision, memory complexity and power consumption. Experimental results have demonstrated that our scheme is enable to achieve state-of-the-art performance for multiple evaluation metrics, breaking through the traditional paradigm of SNN online training and deployment. SHE: Stepwise Hybrid Examination Reinforcement Learning Framework for E-commerce Search Relevance

arXiv:2510.07972v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Query-product relevance prediction is a foundational technology in e-commerce search engines and has become increasingly important in AI-driven e-commerce. The recent emergence of LLMs, particularly their CoT reasoning capabilities, offers promising opportunities for developing relevance systems that are both more interpretable and more robust. However, existing training paradigms have notable limitations: SFT and DPO suffer from poor generalization on long-tail queries and from a lack of fine-grained, stepwise supervision to enforce rule-aligned reasoning. In contrast, reinforcement learning with verification rewards (RLVR) suffers from sparse feedback, which provides insufficient signal to correct erroneous intermediate steps, thereby undermining logical consistency and limiting performance in complex inference scenarios. To address these challenges, we introduce the Stepwise Hybrid Examination Reinforcement Learning framework for search relevance (SHE). At its core is Stepwise Reward Policy Optimization (SRPO), a reinforcement learning algorithm that leverages step-level rewards generated by a hybrid of a high-quality generative stepwise reward model and a human-annotated offline verifier, prioritizing learning from critical correct and incorrect reasoning steps. To bolster robustness and generalization, SHE further integrates a dual-strategy optimization: diversified data filtering, which broadens the exploration of reasoning trajectories to preempt policy entropy collapse, and a multi-stage curriculum learning protocol that systematically orchestrates progressive capability acquisition. Extensive experiments on real-world search benchmarks show that SHE improves both reasoning quality and relevance-prediction accuracy in large-scale e-commerce settings, outperforming SFT, DPO, GRPO, and other baselines, while also enhancing interpretability and robustness.

StegaFFD: Privacy-Preserving Face Forgery Detection via Fine-Grained Steganographic Domain Lifting

arXiv:2603.02886v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Most existing Face Forgery Detection (FFD) models assume access to raw face images. In practice, under a client-server framework, private facial data may be intercepted during transmission or leaked by untrusted servers. Previous privacy protection approaches, such as anonymization, encryption, or distortion, partly mitigate leakage but often introduce severe semantic distortion, making images appear obviously protected. This alerts attackers, provoking more aggressive strategies and turning the process into a cat-and-mouse game. Moreover, these methods heavily manipulate image contents, introducing degradation or artifacts that may confuse FFD models, which rely on extremely subtle forgery traces. Inspired by advances in image steganography, which enable high-fidelity hiding and recovery, we propose a Stega}nography-based Face Forgery Detection framework (StegaFFD) to protect privacy without raising suspicion. StegaFFD hides facial images within natural cover images and directly conducts forgery detection in the steganographic domain. However, the hidden forgery-specific features are extremely subtle and interfered with by cover semantics, posing significant challenges. To address this, we propose Low-Frequency-Aware Decomposition (LFAD) and Spatial-Frequency Differential Attention (SFDA), which suppress interference from low-frequency cover semantics and enhance hidden facial feature perception. Furthermore, we introduce Steganographic Domain Alignment (SDA) to align the representations of hidden faces with those of their raw counterparts, enhancing the model's ability to perceive subtle facial cues in the steganographic domain. Extensive experiments on seven FFD datasets demonstrate that StegaFFD achieves strong imperceptibility, avoids raising attackers' suspicion, and better preserves FFD accuracy compared to existing facial privacy protection methods.
