Nature, Published online: 09 September 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-10968-9

Deep-foam photolithography uses light-controlled polymer foaming to create high-resolution, multifunctional microstructures with tunable optical, wetting and fluid-handling properties for advanced manufacturing applications.

Denisovans from southwestern China and their subsistence strategies

Nature, Published online: 09 September 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-10997-4

Evidence from Bianfu Cave shows specialized hunting, expedient stone-tool production and extensive bone use of Denisovans, providing new insights into their ecology, behaviour and cultural legacy in eastern Asia.

CD300ld on pathologically activated neutrophils promotes tumor immune suppression by binding phosphatidylserine on CD8+ T cells

Nature Cancer, Published online: 15 May 2026; doi:10.1038/s43018-026-01169-4

Zhao and colleagues show that CD300ld, upregulated in pathologically activated neutrophils, mediates contact-dependent suppression of cytotoxic CD8+ T cells by binding to phosphatidylserine, inhibiting antitumor immune responses.

Pixelated quantum-dot superlattice LEDs

Nature, Published online: 15 April 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-10392-z

Scalable fabrication of ordered perovskite quantum dot superlattices enables high-efficiency, ultrahigh-resolution LEDs and active-matrix displays with greatly improved brightness, stability and device lifetime.

Imaging interface-controlled bulk oxygen spillover

Nature, Published online: 15 April 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-10324-x

In situ microscopic single-particle imaging demonstrates the significance of rationally engineered metal–support interfaces for activating the oxygen in bulk catalyst, helping elucidate reaction pathways in catalytic conversions.

Asymmetric selection of a rice immune module and rebuild of disease resistance

Nature, Published online: 08 April 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-10361-6

Stacking XA48-mediated effector-triggered immunity with XA21-mediated pattern-triggered immunity in Oryza sativa japonica reconstitutes the broad-spectrum resistance from wild rice.

Leptomeningeal metastatic cancer cells induce a permissive choroid plexus vasculature through extracellular-vesicle-derived 5-HIAA signaling

Nature Cancer, Published online: 03 April 2026; doi:10.1038/s43018-026-01145-y

Huang, Hou, Yang et al. demonstrate that leptomeningeal metastatic cells favor the formation of a premetastatic niche by remodeling the choroid plexus vasculature through the serotonin metabolite 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid, which signals into endothelial cells through the aryl hydrocarbon receptor.

Genetically encoded fluorescent reporters to visualize α-synuclein pathology in live brain

The development of genetically encoded fluorescent reporters, along with their corresponding knock-in mouse lines for labeling α-Syn inclusions, enables diverse applications in studying the propagation and pathological effects of α-Syn inclusions in the live brain.

Tuning the sensitivity of mechanosensory receptors through histidine scanning

Histidine scanning represents a broadly applicable technique for the identification of critical interaction sites within TCRs and other mechanosensory receptors to enhance receptor signaling strength and augment therapeutic efficacy via the catch bond mechanism.

Facile induction of immune tolerance by an interleukin-2–TGFβ surrogate agonist

Nature, Published online: 11 March 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-10208-0

A fusion protein designed to comprise IL-2 and a helminth-derived TGFβ mimic activates IL-2 and TGFβ signalling pathways in IL-2 receptor-expressing T cells and induces stable antigen-specific regulatory T cells in peripheral lymphoid organs.

Risk-adaptive therapy guided by dynamic ctDNA in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Nature, Published online: 11 March 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-10244-w

A clinical trial testing whether monitoring ctDNA clearance during treatment for nasopharyngeal cancer could be used to inform decisions about an individual’s subsequent therapeutic programme shows promising results.

Breast Cancer Screening Knowledge and Sentiments in Singaporean Women: Mixed Methods Study Using Topic Modeling, Sentiment Analysis, and Structured Questionnaire Data

Background: Mammography screening uptake in Singapore remains below 40% despite campaigns and subsidies. Natural language processing (NLP) can extract nuanced attitudes from free text that fixed response options miss, revealing latent factors influencing breast cancer (BC) screening behavior. Objective: This study characterized women’s attitudes toward mammography using mixed methods data, examined associations between BC awareness and screening willingness, and identified barriers and facilitators through NLP of free-text responses. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study within the multicenter cohort in Singapore (October 2021-December 2023). In total, 4169 women aged 35‐59 years (median 48, IQR 43‐54) were recruited via convenience sampling (3 hospitals and 2 polyclinics). Participants completed online structured questionnaires on demographics and screening history, then a BC education quiz with feedback. Participants answering >80% correctly were classified as “BC-aware.” Posteducation, participants reported screening willingness (motivated or neutral) with optional free-text explanations. Logistic regression models (adjusted for study site, age, ethnicity, marital status, housing, and education) examined the associations with willingness. For 3819 English-language respondents, biterm topic modeling identified themes and sentiment analysis quantified emotional tone. Statistical significance: =.05. Results: Overall, 79% (3287/4169) were BC-aware, and 94% (3908/4169) reported increased motivation posteducation. BC-aware women had higher screening motivation than BC-unaware women (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 2.88, 95% CI 2.19‐3.80;
