Phase-Aware Spatial-Frequency Fusion for Few-Shot Fine-Grained Image Classification

arXiv:2609.03829v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Few-shot fine-grained image classification (FSFGIC) aims to classify similar images with limited labeled examples. This work highlights the critical yet underutilized role of phase information in capturing structural relationships within an image. This study introduces a novel plug-and-play amplitude-phase integration (API) module that effectively combines local and global frequency amplitude and phase information for obtaining more comprehensive feature descriptors. Additionally, a dedicated network, named PSF-Net, is proposed that adaptively fuses phase-based spatial and frequency information for FSFGIS. The designed PSF-Net can be easily integrated into standard episodic training architectures for end-to-end training from scratch. Extensive experiments on five public datasets demonstrate that the method outperforms existing state-of-the-art benchmarks.

Non-Invasive Reconstruction of Intracranial EEG Across the Deep Temporal Lobe from Scalp EEG based on Conditional Normalizing Flow

arXiv:2603.03354v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Although obtaining deep brain activity from non-invasive scalp electroencephalography (sEEG) is crucial for neuroscience and clinical diagnosis, directly generating high-fidelity intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG) signals remains a largely unexplored field, limiting our understanding of deep brain dynamics. Current research primarily focuses on traditional signal processing or source localization methods, which struggle to capture the complex waveforms and random characteristics of iEEG. To address this critical challenge, this paper introduces NeuroFlowNet, a novel cross-modal generative framework whose core contribution lies in the first-ever reconstruction of iEEG signals from the entire deep temporal lobe region using sEEG signals. NeuroFlowNet is built on Conditional Normalizing Flow (CNF), which directly models complex conditional probability distributions through reversible transformations, thereby explicitly capturing the randomness of brain signals and fundamentally avoiding the pattern collapse issues common in existing generative models. Additionally, the model integrates a multi-scale architecture and self-attention mechanisms to robustly capture fine-grained temporal details and long-range dependencies. Validation results on a publicly available synchronized sEEG-iEEG dataset demonstrate NeuroFlowNet's effectiveness in terms of temporal waveform fidelity, spectral feature reproduction, and functional connectivity restoration. This study establishes a more reliable and scalable new paradigm for non-invasive analysis of deep brain dynamics. The code of this study is available in https://github.com/hdy6438/NeuroFlowNet

CN-Buzz2Portfolio: A Chinese-Market Dataset and Benchmark for LLM-Based Macro and Sector Asset Allocation from Daily Trending Financial News

arXiv:2603.22305v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Large Language Models (LLMs) are rapidly transitioning from static Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks including sentiment analysis and event extraction to acting as dynamic decision-making agents in complex financial environments. However, the evolution of LLMs into autonomous financial agents faces a significant dilemma in evaluation paradigms. Direct live trading is irreproducible and prone to outcome bias by confounding luck with skill, whereas existing static benchmarks are often confined to entity-level stock picking and ignore broader market attention. To facilitate the rigorous analysis of these challenges, we introduce CN-Buzz2Portfolio, a reproducible benchmark grounded in the Chinese market that maps daily trending news to macro and sector asset allocation. Spanning a rolling horizon from 2024 to mid-2025, our dataset simulates a realistic public attention stream, requiring agents to distill investment logic from high-exposure narratives instead of pre-filtered entity news. We propose a Tri-Stage CPA Agent Workflow involving Compression, Perception, and Allocation to evaluate LLMs on broad asset classes such as Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) rather than individual stocks, thereby reducing idiosyncratic volatility. Extensive experiments on nine LLMs reveal significant disparities in how models translate macro-level narratives into portfolio weights. This work provides new insights into the alignment between general reasoning and financial decision-making, and all data, codes, and experiments are released to promote sustainable financial agent research.

Federated Co-tuning Framework for Large and Small Language Models

arXiv:2411.11707v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: By adapting Large Language Models (LLMs) to domain-specific tasks or enriching them with domain-specific knowledge, we can fully harness the capabilities of LLMs. Nonetheless, a gap persists in achieving simultaneous mutual enhancement between the server's LLM and the downstream clients' Small Language Models (SLMs). To address this, we propose FedCoLLM, a novel and parameter-efficient federated framework designed for co-tuning LLMs and SLMs. This approach is aimed at adaptively transferring server-side LLMs knowledge to clients' SLMs while simultaneously enriching the LLMs with domain insights from the clients. To accomplish this, FedCoLLM utilizes lightweight adapters in conjunction with SLMs, facilitating knowledge exchange between server and clients in a manner that respects data privacy while also minimizing computational and communication overhead. Our evaluation of FedCoLLM, utilizing various public LLMs and SLMs across a range of NLP text generation tasks, reveals that the performance of clients' SLMs experiences notable improvements with the assistance of the LLMs. Simultaneously, the LLMs enhanced via FedCoLLM achieves comparable performance to that obtained through direct fine-tuning on clients' data. Our code has been contributed to the FATE open-source project and is now publicly accessible at https://github.com/FederatedAI/FATE-LLM/tree/main/python/fate_llm/algo/fedcollm.
